Preis geht an Greifswalder Forscher
Einem interdisziplinären Greifswalder Forscherteam aus der Universitätsaugenklinik und dem Lehrstuhl für Allgemeine BWL und Gesundheitsmanagement der Universität Greifswald ist in Nürnberg der Hartwig-Mathies-Preis verliehen worden.

Die Wissenschaftler erhielten die Auszeichnung am Samstag, 28. Januar 2012, für das Projekt „Teletonometrie MV“, bei dem Glaukompatienten (Glaukom: Grüner Star) telemedizinisch von zu Hause aus betreut werden. Der Hartwig-Mathies-Preis wird alle zwei Jahre vom „Verein für Ambulante Therapie“ (VAT) vergeben.
Damit würdigte die bayerische Ärzteinitiative ein telemedizinisches Betreuungskonzept zum ambulanten Glaukom-Monitoring in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, das (auch einmalig in der Augenheilkunde) im Rahmen der Integrierten Versorgung durch die Techniker Krankenkasse unterstützt wird. Teilnehmende Glaukompatienten können hierbei ihren Augeninnendruck im häuslichen Umfeld rund um die Uhr messen. Die Messwerte werden dann automatisch über die Telefonleitung zum behandelnden Augenarzt/-ärztin und in die Greifswalder Augenklinik zur ärztlichen Auswertung übertragen.
Die Jury hob hervor, dass das Glaukom-Monitoring „Teletonometrie MV“ nicht nur die fachmedizinischen Belange von Glaukompatienten sorgfältig analysiert hat. Hier konnten auch betriebswirtschaftliche- gesundheitsökonomische Daten für die telemedizinische Glaukomüberwachung vorlegt werden, die in Fachzeitschriften veröffentlicht worden sind. Das interdisziplinäre Forscherteam besteht aus Dr. Clemens Jürgens, Dipl. phys. Rico Großjohann und Prof. Frank Tost aus der Universitätsaugenklinik sowie Frau Dipl. oek. Tunia Swierk und Prof. Steffen Fleßa vom Lehrstuhl für Allgemeine Betriebswirtschaftslehre und Gesundheitsmanagement.
Der Hartwig-Mathies-Preis ist mit 5.000 Euro dotiert und wird für außerordentliches Engagement bei Untersuchungen zur Organisation, Methodik und Qualität innovativer Behandlungsformen vergeben. Mit dem Geld soll die Forschung auf diesem Gebiet weiter unterstützt werden.
