Moderne und klassische Musik vereinen sich für guten Zweck
Am 5. Februar 2012 findet ein Benefizkonzert um 17.00 Uhr in der Nikolaikirche mit dem Rock-Pop-Gospel-Chor Celebrate und dem Freien StudentenOrchester Rostock statt.

(ROSTOCK) Das schon bereits dritte Benefizkonzert der Universität Rostock mit dem Freien StudentenOrchester Rostock (F.S.O.R.) dirigiert von Henning Ehlert und dem Chor Celebrate, der von Martin Heuschkel geleitet wird, findet statt. Den Besuchern erwarten Kompositionen von Modest Mussorgski (Eine Nacht auf dem kahlen Berge), Franz von Suppè (Ouvertüre zu Dichter und Bauer) und die Schwanensee-Suite von Peter Tschaikowski. Dazu Rock, Pop, Gospel und Evergreens in der mitreißenden Interpretation des Chores Celebrate.
Das Konzert findet am 5. Februar 2012 in der Nikolaikirche statt.
Beginn ist 17.00 Uhr.
Wie in jedem Jahr fließt der gesamte Erlös des Konzertes an ein gemeinnütziges Projekt, das mit der Caritas Rostock, die seit dem ersten Benefizkonzert unterstützt, ausgewählt wurde. In diesem Jahr gehen die Spenden an den ambulanten Hospiz- und Kinderhospizdienst, den die Caritas in ökumenischer Trägerschaft mit der Diakonie seit 2007 in Rostock betreibt.
Dieser Dienst kümmert sich um die Begleitung schwer kranker Erwachsener, Kinder sowie deren Angehörigen. Die Arbeit lebt durch das unermüdliche Engagement von derzeit ca. 70 ehrenamtlich Tätigen, welche eigens für die Begleitung Sterbender ausgebildet werden. Zwei hauptamtliche Koordinatorinnen organisieren und verwalten den Dienst und sind Ansprechpartnerinnen sowohl für die betroffenen Familien als auch für die ehrenamtlichen Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen. Von Cicely Saunders stammt der Leitspruch dieser zuweilen schweren aber auch sehr beglückenden Arbeit: “Nicht dem Leben mehr Zeit, sondern der Zeit mehr Leben geben!” Hospizarbeit möchte Weg und Brücke zwischen der Gesellschaft und schwerstkranken, sterbenden Menschen sein. Ziel ist es, die Tabuthemen Sterben und Tod in unsere Mitte zu holen und eine Auseinandersetzung auf vielen verschiedenen Ebenen für alle Menschen zu ermöglichen. Die Hospizbewegung ist nicht das Ergebnis staatlicher Anordnung. Sie ist geboren aus der existentiellen Erfahrung von Betroffenen und damit eine Lebensbewegung.
Der Eintritt zum Konzert ist frei. Erwartet werden von den Konzertbesuchern Spenden. Mitglieder des F.S.O.R. und des Chores Celebrate werden dazu mit Sammelbüchsen der Caritas nach dem Konzert bereit stehen.
2010 gingen die Spenden an die Erdbebenopfer in Haiti und 2011 an das Pflege-Familien-Zentrum der Caritas. Insgesamt wurden durch die bisherigen Benefizkonzerte Spenden in Höhe von ca. 9.000 Euro möglich gemacht. Auf Wunsch werden Spendenquittungen ausgestellt.
