ROSTOCK Das Institut für Rechtsmedizin der Universität Rostock mahnt mehr konsequente staatliche Kontrolle im Internet an. Rechtsmedizinerin Anne Bittorf (26) hat im Rechtsmedizinischen Institut zwei junge Männer aus dem Großraum Rostock untersucht, deren Tod offenbar mit dem Einatmen von Helium in Zusammenhang steht. Bittorf recherchierte umfangreich zu diesem Thema im Internet und stellte fest, „dass man mühelos Handlungsanweisungen zum Selbstmord mit Helium finden kann. Ich finde das äußerst bedenklich“, sagt die junge Rechtsmedizinerin.
In Suizidforen wird sogar angeregt, die benutzten Gerätschaften wie Heliumflaschen, Plastiktüten und Schlauchsysteme nach dem Tod von eingeweihten Angehörigen entfernen zu lassen. So könne ein Suizid aus versicherungsrechtlichen Gründen verschleiert oder die Auffindesituation als „würdiger“ für den Verstorbenen dargestellt werden.
Auf der Jahrestagung der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Rechtsmedizin in Berlin haben die Rostocker Rechtsmediziner Anne Bittorf und Dr. Johannes Manhart Fachkollegen auf das Problem mit einem Poster zum Helium-Tod aufmerksam gemacht und so inzwischen deutschlandweit das Interesse für dieses traurige Phänomen geweckt.
Die Gerichtsmediziner fanden durch die Interpretation der Obduktionsergebnisse im Vergleich mit den polizeilichen Ermittlungen heraus, dass der Erstickungstod der beiden jungen Männer (25/28) aus Mecklenburg offenbar durch das Einatmen von Helium verursacht wurde. Beide wurden mit einer über den Kopf gezogenen Plastiktüte gefunden. Unmittelbar neben beiden Toten, die unabhängig voneinander starben, befanden sich Heliumflaschen. Die Nachweismethoden von Helium in menschlichem Gewebe sind kompliziert. Deshalb arbeiten die Toxikologen des Rostocker Instituts für Rechtsmedizin im Augenblick daran, diese für den rechtsmedizinischen Alltag anwendbar zu machen.
Aktive Sterbehilfe als „Tötung auf Verlangen“ ist in Deutschland verboten. Die Rechtslage für begleitete Suizide oder die so genannte Beihilfe zur Selbsttötung ist uneinheitlich und abhängig vom Einzelfall. Damit sich der angeleitete Selbstmord durch Helium vor allem in der jüngeren Generation, für die die Nutzung des Internets zum Selbstverständnis gehört, nicht etablieren kann, dürfen solche Informationen und Anleitungen nicht öffentlich zugänglich sein, sieht Anne Bittorf Handlungsdruck für die Politik.
Selbstmord ist schrecklich für alle Beteiligten, den Betroffenen, die Familie, die Freunde. Er bleibt aber die letzte Entscheidung, die ein Mensch treffen kann (auch wenn sie oft nicht ohne Zwangslage erfolgen wird).
Informationen darüber unterdrücken zu wollen offenbart ein besserwisserisches, bevormundendes und gutmenschelndes Weltbild, das sich anmaßt, sich über die Autonomie des Betroffenen hinweg setzen zu dürfen und seine letzten Entscheidungen nicht nur kommentieren sondern mit ihr sogar noch interferieren zu dürfen.
Um so erschreckender ist es, diese Vorschläge aus dem Mund einer Wissenschaftlerin und Ärztin zu vernehmen.
Die Zeit der Bevormundung durch Autoritäten und Besserwisser ist seit der Aufklärung vorbei! Die Zeit der Unterdrückung von Wissen und Inhalten ist seit der Erfindung des Internet vorbei!
Eine Gesellschaft, deren Selbstmordrate zu hoch ist, sollte sich nach den Gründen fragen und für würdigere Lebensumstände sorgen. Personen, die mit schwierigen Lebenssituationen anderer nicht zu recht kommen, sollten nicht Rechtsmediziner werden. Man kann Menschen helfen, indem man ihnen die Gründe für den Selbstmord nimmt. Informationen über schmerzfreien Selbstmord zu unterdrücken setzt auf Vermeidung durch Erzeugen von Angst – das grenzt bereits an Nötigung und offenbart das bedenkliche Menschenbild, andere in ihrem urpersönlichsten Handeln manipulieren zu dürfen.
Ich bin FASSUNGSLOS über diesen Vorschlag.
Frau Bittorf hat eine gute Frage aufgeworfen. Die Freiheit des Informationszugangs im Internet sollte hier zugunsten des Schutzes von Selbstmordgefährdeten zurückstehen. Denn im Internet kann nicht kontrolliert werden, wer und in welchem geistigen Zustand diese Anleitungen zur Selbsttötung liest und dann eventuell umsetzt.
Wer einen Suizid vor hat, macht das nich einfach so spontan. Vor der Durchführung hat man sich viele Gedanken gemacht. Was den Suizid gefährdeten Menschen davor zurück hält ist der Gedanke dass der Tod mit Schmerzen verbunden ist. Schon der Gedanke ersticken zu müssen ist grausam. Angst vor den Folgen wenn der Suizid nur ein Versuch bleibt. Gehirnschäden, Nierenschäden, Koma oder als Pflegefall weiterleben zu müssen. All das hält die meisten Menschen mit suizidalen Überlegungen davor zurück ihre Gedanken in die Tat umzusetzen. Helfen hätte man u. U. denen müssen welche ihre Gedanken in die Tat umgesetzt haben. Aber wie? Indem man nicht über den Tod redet? Ich bin der Meinung dass man das Recht freiwillig aus dem Leben zu scheiden nicht per Gesetz reglementieren sollte. Suizide wird es immer geben. Gebt Ihnen doch die Möglichkeit dazu wenn alle Bemühungen von Ärten, Psychologen und Kirchenvertretern nicht geholfen haben Sie von diesem Gedanken abzubringen. Kümmert Euch mehr um diese kranken oder depressiven Menschen und rettet wenigsten einigen das Leben. Nämlich denen, denen man noch hätte helfen können.
HER hat volkommen recht. Leider Gottes ist aber der Großteil der Menschheit geistig zu beschränkt um diese Erkenntnis wahrnehmen zu können.
